Introduction

I decided to introduce this column so my visitors can join me to learn more about Thai cooking. My recipes might be slightly different from the real Thai recipes, but only  because I adapted them to Melbourne's varieties of fresh food. As you all know that not every single ingredient is readily available when not in Thailand. With my experience from owning a Thai restaurant for 5 years I think I can share what I have learnt in a simple easy to understand format. In this column I hope that you will enjoy Thai cooking as much as me and enjoy the benefits of a good healthy diet!

Ingredients:
- Beef
- Vegetables – your own choice (such as broccoli, cauliflower, carrots)
- Mushrooms
- Garlic
- Oyster sauce

  Preparation :
1. Cut up some garlic maybe about 2 small cloves.
2. Slice all the meet up into thin slices
3. cut up all the vegetables (don't mix them up)

Instruction :
1. Put some oil in the wok then heat it up on high.
2. Wait until the oil heats right up then put the garlic in and stir until they are slightly browned.
3. Put thick heavy texture vegetables in (for example carrot, broccoli and cauliflower) until slightly cooked through.
4. Follow with any other thin textured vegetables (if you have any) at your disposal such as zucchini / bok choy etc and let it cook out briefly.
5. Add some oyster and soy sauce then test. (I don't like telling people how much sauce they have to put in as everyone have different tastes. The best thing you can do is test your food as you go then you will get a better idea next time around.)
6. Put your meat and mushrooms in at the same time and stir around until vegetables go soft.
and serve with hot rice.

Product Brand Suggestion : II have no commercial arrangement for these products. They are put forward as a suggestion as I like them and use them in my cooking.
* coming soon *

*tips :
1. I put in the meat in at the last stage because beef is very easy to cook if you cut it thin enough. If you put the meat in too early it will become quite tough although some people might like it that way.
2. cook with less meet and more vegetable to make it healthier. I.e. One normal sized steak cut properly will be more than enough for a family of four.
3. Cook with less oil.
4. Add some water in at any stage to give more moisture for the sauce and steam to help cook the vegetables.
5. With this recipe you can mix and match to make different dishes. For example change beef to chicken / pork or change to different types of vegetables.

Any question? Send me a message below and I will give you some help :)
enjoy!
