Muay Thai and your visa

The Destination Thailand Visa text names Muay Thai courses among the activities it covers. The DTV guide has funds and fees.

Lanna sells a 1 year Education (ED) visa package, and the student must attend at least 2 training sessions a week of 2 hours each to be eligible. It is a year-long commitment.

The package asks for 60 days left on your current visa, 6 passport photos, a passport copy and a TM30 certificate. The price per year is THB 75,000, 100,000 or 135,000 depending on sessions, with service fees and visa extensions included.

Immigration’s order sets the school side of an ED extension: a private school must be licensed by the relevant government agency and certified by one. A non-formal school gets permission of at most 90 days at a time and 1 year in total.

Ask any gym for its licence and certification before you pay for a visa package. The papers are in the ED visa guide, and Chiang Mai Immigration handles extensions.

Bangarang can provide DTV Muay Thai documentation, and The Camp prepares school-side documents for ED and DTV routes. Dang offers visa packages.

The Wall Fitness runs a DTV Muay Thai class on Wednesdays. See the gym guide.
